I saw this on the BBC website, and thought it was awesome how someone people have finally redesigned the average hotel room into some futuristic sci-fi room.

I wish my room was like this.

I came across this website a year ago or so, and recently looked at it again to see that they’ve made drastic improvment and have been in many more places.

they basically go to abandoned warehouses and old underground systems and document the experience.

I think its a brilliant play on curiosity and the photos look fantastic.

As i am becoming more and more interested in aspects of photography im finding this to be very inspirational.

Notes

As part of my course, we went to Liverpool to visit some galleries and exhibitions. the whole Liverpool Biennial thing.

there was quite a lot of interesting stuff, photographs and notes were taken.

Notes

I saw alot of interesting work while i was in liverpool. The best of it wasnt in the Walker Gallery however.

i cant remember the name of the Gallery that it was in, i believe that exhibition was called Bloomburg New Contemporaries…this could have been the name of the gallery though.

well there was a lot of interesting and original work there, interesting sculptural installation, photographs. a wide use of media and techonology, LED lights and stuff.

Here is a list of what caught my interest the most.

Tyler Bright Hilton – illustrations.

Manual Vazquez – photography.

Naomi St-Clair Clarke – big scuplture. made of human hair, synthetic hair, stockinettes, glue, thread, chicken wire and paper mache … i remember it was a very interesting form. i have a photo of this.

Gemma Nelson – illustrations, patterny. indian inks used.

Joseph Long – …Woman in a box?…

Photography >>

Jane Maughan

Esther Teichman

Jane Ward

Sarah Micheal

… most of these used C-Type photography for printing. brings out a really nice effect.

You would think that when trying to explain the purpose of a blog to a group of university students would be quite easy.

In fact it really isn’t.

One and a half hours of Blog talk.

…and still no one understood.

I think the tutors did the opposite of what their intentions were, and made the concept of a blog and a journal far too complicated.

oh well.
